Service Policies of Our Mailing List

The PUPOL Network uses Jiscmail to send newsletter and information to its members.

In this page, we collect some important details on how this service works, how we use it and how we treat subscribers’ data.

JISCMAIL (mailing list)
By using Jiscmail, the PUPOL Network accepts and respects their conditions.
Jiscmail services policies, updated to align with the GDPR, can be read here.

HOW WE USE JISCMAIL
The PUPOL mailing list has the purpose of informing subscribers about PUPOL upcoming events (e.g. conferences and meetings) and other relevant news on public and political leadership studies (e.g. call for papers, recent publications, job listings, funding opportunities, etc.).
The mailing list is not used for marketing purposes and hence it does not and cannot involve the selling of any product or service.
Messages using the mailing list are (and can be) sent by two different type of senders:

  1. PUPOL Team: these are official communications about the activities of the network or about information that the board and/or the organizing team found useful for all subscribers/members of PUPOL.
Email frequency: the newsletter is sent twice a year while other important communications are sent immediately to ensure a prompt share of information.
  2. PUPOL members/subscribers: anyone who is subscribed to the mailing list can use it to send messages and share information that he/she finds relevant for the whole PUPOL network.
Email frequency: there is not a fixed email frequency. We encourage members to use the mailing list but, in line with the purposes of this service and Jiscmail policies, we invite to use common sense and reasonable behaviour when sending messages.
The PUPOL team nor Jiscmail is responsible for the contents sent by members but, in case of misbehaviour, the PUPOL team will act to limit the damages caused by the improper message, to safeguard the subscribers/members.

Anyway, in both cases, this is meant to be a low-frequency mailing list.
