Like every year, PUPOL organises a special panel on public and political leadership at the 2017 annual work conference of the Netherlands Institute of Government (NIG) on 9-10 November in Maastricht. And you have until 1 September to submit your abstract!
The PUPOL panels at NIG are known for their open and inviting atmosphere, the depth and constructiveness of the discussions, and the extensive time available to debate about the different papers. It is also a great place to meet with like-minded public and political leadership scholars and develop ideas for future collaborative research opportunities.
For more information, check out the 2017 Call for Papers and our page on the NIG annual work conferences.
Did you also enjoy PUPOL’s second international conference in Milton Keynes, UK and want to look back at the keynote speeches by prof. Barbara Crosby and prof. John Bryson or the one by Brad Jackson? No problem! All the keynotes and TED-type talks of the conference are now online.

The deadline for the PUPOL special issue on Leadership for Public and Social Value in the journal Public Administration is vast approaching! You have until 1 October 2017 to submit your papers.
The special issue aims to examine whether, how and what leadership achieves for society, and/or different publics. It particularly looks at the relationship between public leadership and societal challenges with the mediating role of the practice of public administration. Papers may focus on the leadership of the creation or destruction of public and social value at various levels.
Manuscripts can be submitted until 1 October 2017 through Public Administration’s manuscript system (https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/padm).
